The ‘Twirled’ series of ceramic cups is now available in the online shop. Designed, handmade, and signed by King HOUNDEKPINKOU, each cup showcases one of four vibrant signature glazes—clear blue, deep blue, dark brown, or blue-green—drawn from the artist’s distinctive sculptural palette. Individually thrown on the potter’s wheel, every piece is carefully faceted into six sections using a loop tool.

The stoneware clay used in this series incorporates scraps from King’s sculptural works, ensuring that no material goes to waste. More than just a material choice, the clay blend serves as a conceptual gesture—swirling together clays sourced from France, Spain, Germany, Benin, Japan, Australia, and the U.S.A. This fusion of earth from across continents reinforces the cross-cultural dialogue at the core of King’s practice. Each component carries the memory of a place the artist has visited, and together, they embody the global craftsmanship he has passionately pursued for over a decade.

Fired to 1260ºC, the cups are food-safe and dishwasher-friendly.
